Week 15 College Football Power Ratings and Predictions
Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel takes a snap as the No. 1 Oregon Ducks host the Washington Huskies Saturday, Nov. 30, 2024 at Autzen Stadium in Eugene, Ore.

Week 15 College Football Power Ratings:

Conference championship weekend has arrived. That means we only have nine games on the slate, but they are nine very important games. Five have big College Football Playoff implications and the other ones will determine the champions of the Sun Belt, MAC, Conference USA, and the AAC.

I’ve updated my Power Ratings going into this week, including updates on teams whose seasons are over. I try to use my Power Ratings as a guide for evaluating teams for the next season, but that may be a futile endeavor with the transfer portal and all of the roster turnover. Plus, we have a ton of coaching openings already.

Nevertheless, the ratings are updated and I’ll be able to put together some early bowl game numbers, but, as we know, the dynamics of those games will change with opt-outs and coaches moving on to different programs.

Some games to consider based on the differences between the betting market and my lines

Jacksonville State -4 (-6.5) vs. Western Kentucky: I’ve thought that Jacksonville State was the class of the conference for a while now. They had nothing to play for last week and still almost beat Western Kentucky. Tyler Huff is a great dual-threat QB, despite an ugly passing effort last week. The Gamecocks ran for 229 yards and 5.3 yards per carry in a game that didn’t matter to them.

Ohio +2.5 (-1) vs. Miami (OH): I understand why Miami is favored here. They won 30-20 in the first game and it really wasn’t as close as the final score would indicate. Miami was -3.5 at home in that one. Admittedly, I’ve had a hard time rating all the MAC teams this season.

Oregon -3.5 (-6) vs. Penn State: Oregon has been the No. 1 team for me for a while and I think they have a tremendous coaching advantage here. This one is my favorite play of the week.

I’ll be posting this weekly Power Ratings update all season long, including my lines on the games. Keep it locked in right here at VSiN and bookmark our weekly College Football Hub to get all of our written content every week during CFB season.
