Similarly, the Pirates (23-20) just won two of three at the Tigers, winning 8-0 on Wednesday as +145 road dogs. When both teams had the day off, as is the case here, the favorite is 40-22 (65%). Arizona has the edge at the plate, hitting .270 compared to .242 for Pittsburgh. Arizona also have correlative betting value as a favorite in a low total game (7.5), as the fewer amount of expected runs scored are more likely to come form the better team. Pros have also leaned under, as the total is 7.5 with the under juiced to -120, signaling a possible dip down to 7.

In tonight’s series opener, Minnesota turns to righty Joe Ryan (6-1, 2.16 ERA) and Los Angeles counters with lefty Reid Detmers (0-3, 4.89 ERA). This line opened with the Twins listed as a -120 road favorite and the Angels a +110 home dog. Pros have laid the short chalk with Minnesota, steaming the Twins up from -120 to -130.
