1:05 p.m. ET: Arizona Diamondbacks (-155, 9.5) at Washington Nationals

The Diamondbacks (45-30) just took two of three at the Brewers, winning Wednesday’s series finale 5-1 as -150 road favorites. On the other hand, the Nationals (28-45) just dropped two of three at home against the Cardinals but won yesterday’s series finale 3-0 as +135 home dogs. In this early afternoon series opener, Arizona hands the ball to lefty Tommy Henry (3-1, 4.66 ERA) and Washington sends out righty Jake Irvin (1-3, 5.25 ERA). This line opened with the Diamondbacks listed as a -145 road favorite and the Nats a +130 home dog. Sharps have gotten down on Arizona, steaming the Snakes up from -145 to -155. The Diamondbacks are receiving 86% of bets and 93% of money, indicating lopsided action from both the public and wiseguys. Non-division road favorites are 109-64 (63%) this season, producing a 13% ROI. Arizona is 24-10 as a favorite, 32-19 against righties and 22-12 on the road. Washington is 26-44 as a dog, 8-20 against lefties and 13-26 at home.

6:40 p.m. ET: Pittsburgh Pirates at Miami Marlins (-135, 7.5)

The Pirates (34-39) have lost nine straight games and just got swept at home against the Cubs, losing 8-3 on Wednesday as +100 dogs. Meanwhile, the Marlins (42-33) just dropped two of three at home against the Blue Jays, losing 6-3 yesterday as +115 dogs. In tonight’s series opener, the Pirates start righty Mitch Keller (8-3, 3.62 ERA) and the Marlins counter with lefty Braxton Garrett (3-2, 3.88 ERA). This line opened with Miami listed as a -125 home favorite and Pittsburgh a +110 road dog. Sharps have laid the short chalk with Miami, steaming the Marlins up from -125 to -135. Miami is receiving 77% of bets and 82% of money, signaling a heavy combination of both Pro and Joe support. The Marlins have a big edge at the plate, hitting .260 versus .240 for the Pirates. Miami is 21-11 as a favorite, 33-23 against righties and 22-15 at home. The Marlins also have correlative betting value as a favorite in a low total game (7.5), with the fewer amount of expected runs scored more likely to come from the better team. Keller has a 5.19 ERA in three June starts. Keller has a 4.44 ERA on the road (compared to 2.78 at home). Garrett has a 2.76 ERA in three June starts. Miami is 3-0 in those three games.
