Market Report for Friday, June 10th

Golden State Warriors @ Boston Celtics (-3.5, 215.5)
    Game 4: Celtics lead 2-1

There are many who believe that this will be another “bounce back” spot for Golden State much like Game 2 back in San Francisco. I am not one of those people. The Warriors are still on the road here and they are now 3-5 SU/2-6 ATS away from home this postseason with a -9.7 net rating in non-garbage time minutes. Golden State is also at a massive disadvantage when it comes to size in this series and that played itself out in the Game 3 loss in which they were outscored 52-26 in the paint while being outrebounded 47-31 by Boston. The Celtics’ size and ability to defend is going nowhere.

Today also marks the shortest turnaround between games in this series and that is an important factor tonight. Stephen Curry is dealing with foot soreness, Robert Williams’ knee is still an issue and Jayson Tatum is clearly still dealing with his shoulder pain. None of these players are expected to miss this game tonight, but how they look with just one night off between games will go a long way toward deciding the outcome.

From a number standpoint I believe that this should Celtics -5 tonight so once again I will be looking to back Boston. The number has not come into play at all in this series, but I will still hold out to get the bet number available, be it the -4 that is out there or -3.5 should the public come in strong on Golden State once again. As far as the total is concerned,  I would look to bet this game Under. This has not been the fastest series in the world – the average possessions per game is right around 95 – and if we see even the slightest dip in efficiency this game will likely go Under and the betting market has responded properly in pushing this number down a point.

    Play: Celtics (-4)
