Andy Reid, Patrick Mahomes and the Swifties celebrated the opportunity to “Three-Peat”, but let me tell you who celebrated the most: Miami Heat President Pat Riley. He trademarked the term when he was head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers and now he’ll be rooting for the Kansas City Chiefs to be the first NFL team to “Three-Peat” when they play the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl 59.
There have been several challenges but the patent court continues to rule in Riley’s favor that he does indeed own the trademark.
If the Chiefs beat the Eagles and “Three-Peat,” Riley will be able to buy his own team with the t-shirt royalties! I’m on board.
