Super Bowl LVIII Rushing Props
Every Super Bowl presents interesting prop betting challenges based on the personnel. While the main characters for the Super Bowl rushing props seem pretty obvious, wrinkles are always possible for two offensive masterminds like Andy Reid and Kyle Shanahan. Is there a chance that leads to some good betting value and opportunities in the rushing props markets?
We also have a couple of quarterbacks that can move around a bit if called upon. After rushing for only 144 yards during the regular season, Brock Purdy had 48 yards on just five carries in the NFC Championship Game. Patrick Mahomes would prefer not to run, but his 75 carries and 389 yards during the regular season were both career-highs, though it was his first full season without a rushing touchdown.

Much like what I observed with the early Super Bowl Passing Props, the lines for the Chiefs are pretty close to the season averages. Pacheco’s rushing yards and rush attempts are slightly over his season averages, but the Chiefs did run the football with much greater efficiency late in the season. Pacheco surpassed 100 yards in two of his final three regular season games and has gone over this number in two of three playoff games, falling two yards short against Baltimore.
Mahomes has had at least 19 rushing yards in 10 of his 17 playoff games and at least 29 rushing yards in each of his three Super Bowl appearances.

Unlike the 49ers Super Bowl Passing Props, which were lined quite a bit lower compared to the players’ season averages, these fall directly in line with the season numbers. Many pundits and analysts have lambasted the Ravens for their offensive game-plan in the AFC Championship Game and the lack of carries for Justice Hill and Gus Edwards.
Will the 49ers seemingly learn from the error of Baltimore’s ways and let the backs run wild? Given how McCaffrey has been getting a lot of treatment on the sidelines throughout the postseason, a run-heavy approach might lead to some value on somebody like Elijah Mitchell at sportsbooks with his odds posted.
