As I mentioned in yesterday’s projections article, we had a bit of a rough start the first couple of days back from the Olympic break, but we got a much-needed 2-0 sweep on Tuesday with the Liberty and Wings going under 174.5 and the Mystics and Storm going under 163.5. TSI seems to be finding its footing again, going 4-1 in the last five bets I’ve given out. Let’s keep the momentum rolling with a two-game slate on Wednesday, where I’ve got two best bets on the same game.

Atlanta Dream vs. Phoenix Mercury

Getting Rhyne Howard back from injury has bolstered Atlanta and has made them a competent team post-Olympic break, while Phoenix has been red hot and lighting up scoreboards as gold-medalist Kahleah Copper is on a tear right now. Phoenix is now a 2-point favorite with an Over/Under of 165.5, and we’ve seen line moves in favor of Phoenix and the over. I would’ve loved to have given out the over here, as TSI projects Phoenix -0.5 with a total of 165, but the numbers are too tight to make a play.

WNBA Best Bet: Stay away at current numbers

Las Vegas Aces vs. Minnesota Lynx

What an absolute banger of a matchup we’re getting Wednesday night when the finally healthy Lynx take on the suddenly mortal Las Vegas Aces. Vegas is a 5.5-point favorite with an Over/Under of between 166.6 and 167, depending on where you look. I think the Liberty loss last weekend might have been the wake-up call that Vegas needed. I’d be very surprised to see Becky Hammon allow her team to drop consecutive games to title contenders rather than send a message that the Liberty game was a one-off. TSI projects Aces -8 with a total of 158.5, so I love the Aces in this spot, and I also like the Under in what should feel like a playoff atmosphere.
